WHAT WE DO
Our Services
With experience in facilitating programs in state correctional facilities, universities, high schools and national non-profits teaching a myriad of subjects including self-awareness, restorative justice, race and membership, legacy and trauma, and holocaust and human behavior, Spentem offers an array of initiatives that achieve the following objectives:
(1) We define what being system-affected is and work to heal individual trauma through interrogation of personal narratives
(2) We help restore broken relationships through the art and beauty of civil discourse
(3) We address the tri-ignorance of race, gender and class discrimination by deconstructing the origins of toxic systems and their effects on the human mind, body and spirit
(4) We prepare leaders to be strategic disrupters when faced with injustice of any kind
(5) We launch individuals into their necessary act to participate in healing the world
Additionally, Spentem collaborates with community-based organizations such as Boston Children's Foundation, and International Trauma Center to offer culturally responsive collaborative services.
These five strategic goals are designed to address the root causes of the factors that are linked to anxiety, self-doubt, resentment, emotional pain, and social division.
For almost a decade, Spentem has been at the forefront of responding to the wellness needs of community through hosting restorative workshops, visioning circles, and safe havens. Comprised of system-affected facilitators from both ends of the spectrum, Spentem includes a diverse team of multi-faith clergy, terminal degree academics, substance recovery coaches, licensed mental health clinicians and returning citizens. We have the credentials, situated knowledge, and lived experience to offer deeply penetrating programs that answer the call of individuals, families, community-based organizations, school districts, and all levels of governmental agencies.
We’re committed to seeing every human being as a vessel to do good work, assisting every human being in becoming the highest version of themselves, and holistically intervening in all injustices that we can add restoration to.
